20 July 2026, Hat Yai — The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) delivered a keynote lecture on “Future Directions of IMT-GT Cooperation: Opportunities for the Next Generation” during the Opening Ceremony of the International Rubber Innovation Camp 2026, organised by the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) and Prince of Songkla University (PSU).
The Innovation Camp is organised under the IMT-GT Project Implementation Team on Rubber Cities and Rubber Industry Cooperation (PIT RCRIC), bringing together around 30 young researchers, students, industry professionals, and government officials from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to co-create innovative and sustainable solutions for the future of the rubber industry.
In the keynote, Ms. Duangruetai Surasakjinda, Deputy Director of CIMT highlighted that rapid global transformations, including AI & digitalisation, the green transition, climate change and shifting economic dynamics, are reinforcing the importance of regional cooperation. The future competitiveness of the IMT-GT subregion will depend on stronger partnerships, connected innovation ecosystems, and the ability to leverage the complementary strengths of the three Member Countries.
The International Rubber Innovation Camp reflects IMT-GT’s commitment to empowering the next generation and strengthening collaboration to build a more integrated, innovative, inclusive, and sustainable subregion.
